Pelt is a resource that can be acquired by harvesting corpses with most tools and dinosaurs. Pelt is used to craft fur gear, which provides excellent cold protection.
Gathering [ ]
The most efficient way to harvest Pelt is by using a tamed Direwolf with high melee damage, although Thylacoleo and Sabertooth will work nearly as well. Another highly efficient tool for harvesting it is the Metal Hatchet, but it can be harvested with a Stone Hatchet and Picks as well. Other low-level items will only occasionally harvest Pelt.

Notes/Trivia [ ]
- One of the easiest ways to get Pelt is to tame a Direwolf and then run around killing Mammoths. You will get around 20-50 Pelt per Mammoth.
- Outside of the Snow Biome you can get pelt from Castoroides, Equus, Dire Bear, Megaloceros, Otter, Ovis, Megatherium and Procoptodon.
- These help you make Fur Armor BEFORE you go to the Snow Biome, which almost always freezes players with only a Hide Armor set.
- On Scorched Earth, Pelt can be collected from Direwolves, Equus, Megatheriums, Procoptodons, and Yutyrannus, as well as from Supply Crates.
